Not-so-Obvious Benefits of going to Photoshop World

Yes, the number one reason for going to Photoshop World is the amazing training you’ll receive on Photoshop, photography and Lightroom. But there are plenty of other great benefits of attending that may not be obvious at first glance. For example…

Vendor demonstrations: many vendors hold demonstrations and/or have guest speakers at their booth.

The Keynote: you’ve never really seen a conference keynote until you’ve experienced one at Photohsop World!

Chat with Adobe: stop by the Adobe booth to chat with Product Managers to share your thoughts about Photoshop and Lightroom

Photoshop Wars: a fun new part of the Expo, pairing instructors and attendees in a Photoshop contest

Expo Theater Classes: in addition to the conference classes there always seems to be a class going on at the Expo – for free.

Live taping of PSUTV: Every year we tape an episode of Photoshop User TV. There’s nothing quite like seeing it live  ;)

Dinner with a Stranger: sign up for this great opportunity to meet new people over dinner.

Deals: many vendors offer amazing discounts at their booths. I’ve seen people walk away with incredible deals!

Tweet-ups: attend the “official” Twwet-up or use Twitter to create your own social gathering.

New technology: over the years many vendors have used the Photoshop World Expo to show publicly for the first time their latest products. It could happen again this year…

Ask the Instructors: between classes, the instructors wander around the conference and the Expo floor and are happy to chat and try to answer your questions.

Help Desk Live: bring your burning Photoshop questions for Pete Bauer and the staff of the NAPP Help Desk

Fun. Okay, maybe this one is kind of obvious but it bears repeating: you’ll have a ton of fun at Photoshop World – while your head explodes with new ideas, techniques and inspiration.

BTW, register before the end of July to get the Early Bird savings of $100, and have a chance to win some cool prizes.

The only problem I see with PSW right now is deciding which sessions to go to since there’s multiple times I want to attend multiple sessions. But I’ll definitely go to the live taping of PSUTV no matter what else is going on at that time!

This is my first PSW and I am really looking forward to it. I’m coming over from UK so been saving hard to make the most of the experience and find some good deals at the expo.
I’m hoping to get to midnite madness, visit the infamous ‘in and out’ burger place, see Scott’s band play, watch a PSUTV live and meet some ace people.
Plus I have the bonus of attending as UK NAPP Evangelist so I have a lot to take part in and report back to encourage more UK memberships and telling people how cool it is to meet the NAPP team and see them do their stuff live. I’m still deciding which classes to do, hopefully he new version of the NAPP App will help !
    Counting the days ….

PSW Dinner with a stranger is great for meeting others with similar interests. My second PSW was more productive because I knew more about the types of things to look for. For example, the sessions on the EXPO floor are terrific too, finding the photographer sessions for things best seen in person and eating right there because then you don’t miss anything.

I go to every session and all the time for the expo. After the one in the Spring, I wrote up a review that can be found here http://www.eileenludwig.com/blog/?p=7 at my other blog. I love watching all the guys teach what they know.

Going to the party with Scott’s Band was a nice touch. He plays as hard as he works. Going to at least one PSW is a must. I will go back but must save the money for a future one until I get my blogs and tutorials, and other income streams flowing.
