The Creative Cloud
As you probably know, Adobe recently announced the Creative Cloud. I’m very intrigued with their concept, particularly when they show what the future holds (let alone what it offers right now). I love the idea of getting all the software I need, with more regular updates, and the sharing and backup options it offers.
The demonstrations they showed included having a client look at the layers in a Photoshop document – even if they don’t own Photoshop. Or taking a photo, creating color swatches, uploading to the cloud and using the swatches in Photoshop and Illustrator.
The monthly membership to the Creative Cloud has been announced at $49/month, but if you already own Creative Suite editions or individual products, version CS3 or later (CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5.5 or CS6) you save US$20 per month for the first year on a Creative Cloud membership. Just sign up for an annual plan by August 31, 2012 and get Creative Cloud for just $29.99 a month for the first year.

You might want to clarify your last sentence a bit, Dave. It should read, “Just sign up for an annual plan by August 31, 2012 and get Creative Cloud for just $29.99 a month for the first year.”
The way it reads now, it could be misconstrued as being $29.99 for the entire first year.

Good call Jude. Made the change. Funny thing is, that last part was copied directly from an email from Adobe
This caused me some confusion the day CS6 and the Creative Cloud were announced. I’m sure the oversight was not intentional–on the other hand, how could Adobe’s advertising miss the omission? Go figger.
What surprised me was that $29.99 showed up in my cart. I figured the “sign up for an annual plan” meant I would be charged the ~$360 for the entire year. Seems very customer friendly for Adobe.
